-50th anniversary of the twin Golden Towers of Huzuz.

It was, on the 9th of Riyah, the 50th anniversary of the ajami attack on the twin Golden Tower of Huzuz. Unenlightened individuals from the distant north gained control of dragons and set out on a Hiyalian plot to destroy the center of civilization. As a matter of fact, they crashed two dragons in the now reconstructed Golden Towers of Huzuz before the GADF, the Genie Aerial Defense Force, could react. Another dragon was shot down by the MSAT, the Mamluk Special Air Troops, as it was nearing Qudra. A reward of 25 000 000 dinars is offered to the one to capture the unenlightened mastermind behind those attacks.

Son of a Sa'luk: The low and lowly life of a thievering Pragmatist

Saheeda Effendi! You come here to read more about the legendary exploits of Farooq Min Jauhar. Feast your eyes on his cunning that can trick a caliph out his dinars...

- Upon arriving in Tajar on his first adventure, Farooq traveled the streets of the city throwing dinars made with the magic of Fool's gold, spreading the word of Jauhar under a stunned church of Jisan. Once the gold reverted to the rocks from where they came, the angry population sought out Farooq for an explanation. Using cunning and a silver tongue, Farooq boldly claimed that Jisan and her priests didn't want them to have the money so they turned it to common rock. The angry mob went on to rough up the priests of Jisan, who were surprised to have an uprising on their hands.

- In Hiyal, Farooq placed a bet that Ramanhi could best Master Bulad, the Steelmaker. He did bet an impressive sum of 2000 dinars. As the fight drew to a close with a winded Ramanhi surrendering to Bulad, Farooq "quietly" left the room, without paying his due, for his friends to cover for his loss.

- In Radim, as a reward for saving the wedding of the Pharaoh's daughter, Farooq was covered in gold pieces, under which he slept and lives for three days before passing out from exhaustion and his own stench, having refused countless times to come out even for a bath. Ramanhi and Saladin threw him in a bath and had the servants wash him while they locked his gold in a chest.

Side Quest: The Wrath of Jisan: Update

Farooq is informed that his head as been priced, 100 000 dinars, by the church of Jisan for heresy, conspiracy to overthrow a lawfully established mosque of Jisan in Tajar and slander against the believers of Jisan (See the Son of a Sa'luk entry for more details). With this information, Farooq changed his style not to be recognized easily and sports the pharaonic beard and makeup. At their arrival in Qadib, Farooq noticed a Moralist of Jisan running of toward the city after looking in his direction...

Major Quest: A Wife for Ramanhi: Update

Ramanhi learned, thanks to the "informant" network of the Pharaoh, that Ali was not sighted in any city in the Land of Fate but that Ali's lieutenant, Mutamin, still uses the saher's mansion in Qadib. At the Pharaoh's request, Ramanhi visited the University of flame once in Qadib to meet up with Julnar bint Amsha, a flame saher whose family was murdred by Ali for her refusal to join the Brotherhood of the True Flame. Thanks to Farooq's savy in the Suq with the barber Fadir, they might get an invitation to Mutamin's party. Julnar also agreed to accompany them as Farooq's female companion.

Chronology: Update

Es Salam Alekum, Effendi! You came back for more on the progress of our heroes. Read on, read on...

- 7th of Diyah: Our heroes, after a month being the guests of the Pharaoh, decide it is time to move on pursuing their quests. The heroes receive riches and gifts from the Pharaoh, being heroes in his land. HE also gives them the information that his "informants" in every cities gathered (See quests updates). Our heroes ready their boat, the Golden Sands, and get a lucrative delivery to make in Qadib, their first stop. Bidding their farewells and goodbyes, the heroes set sail with their crew at sun rise on the 8th.

- 8th of Diyah to the 14th of Diyah: Our heroes have smooth sailing, getting more at ease with boat travel. As the sun set on the evening of the 14th during supper, a heavy fog forced the crew to anchor at the delta of the Al-Haul River which leads them to Qadib. As they discuss their business for the next day, a scratching noise is heard all around the ship. Everyone draws their weapon and inspect the sides of the ship as lacedon slowly crawl up the ship. The fight gets complicated as Ramanhi and Saladin both fell prey to the paralyzing touch of the lacedon. Farooq saves the night by calling on the might of his Goddess, Jauhar, to force these undead creatures to retreat.

- 15th of Diyah: Our heroes arrive in Qadib around 10:00, being the first one out of the fog to land. They get their paiement for the shipment of Ale which was bound for the Magical Den. As they get ready to roam the Suq district, Farooq notices a Moralist of Jisan, whom noticed him, dash out of the port toward the city. Our heroes get groomed at Fadir's, Barber Extraordinaire of Qadib, tender of the charsimatically challenge, he who can restore beauty where there was none, ... to gather information about their objective in the city, Mutamin and his bodyguards, whom are linked to Ali al-Lazan. They "convinced" the barber to get them an invitation to one of Mutamin's party at Ali's mansion. They also get the address of the best magical item crafter in Qadib, Ahmed. Once all this is gathered, they wonder the suq in quest for fabrics to sell further down south, hoping to make a profit on their next trip. They spend the night on the boat.

- 16th of Diyah: Our heroes go for their first appointment of the day, meeting with Yusef, owner of the Magical Den and friend. After a brief discussion and negotiation, our heroes have a new haul bound for Qudra. They go to the university of flame to meet with the contact the Pharaoh recommended to them. As they meet with Headmaster Fadir, they get the impression he doesn't want her to go. When Julnar appears, she criticizes Saladin choices of companionship when she glared at his air gen. They agree to go at Mutamin's party. After this meeting and passing to the exchange bank, the heroes get their first magic carpet ride to the university of legend and lore where Saladin hopes to find more clues to find Ur. Ramanhi and Farooq head to Ahmed to purchase magical items. Ramanhi is interested in a ring of protection against flame, which he should obtain the 17th since the ring needs ajusting. Farooq as his Morningstar of Disruption melted away and converted into a rapier enchanted against the undead. This would take at least 10 days informed Ahmed. Farooq was also interested in a agal of persuasion.

Major Quest: A Wife for Ramanhi

After impressing Bulad the Steelmaker of Hiyal, and noticing his alluring daughter, Ramanhi (under "encouragements" from Farooq) asked for Bulad daughter's hand. He gets it but he needs to prove his worth by becoming a citizen of Hiyal and proving he can provide for a family. Farroq suggested hunting down Ali al-Lazan, wanted alive by the caliphate of Hiyal with a reward of 500 000 dinars, more then enough to provide for a family. After helping with the Pharaoh's daughter wedding, he got some wealth and an ally in the Cities of the North, starting to prove his worth.

Major Quest: The Lost City of Ur

Saladin, to serve Zann the Learned, as been tasked with the founding of the Zohar, a tome of ultimate knowledge, said to be guarded in the Lost City of Ur. After meeting Ramanhi and Farooq at an oasis, they had a n encounter with a Vishap, whom, after negotiating therms of thruce, showed them a map engraved on the walls of his lair. This map depicted what the Land of Fate looked like a thousand years ago. It had dots in three locations. One such dot was in what is called now the Great Anvil, another is in the Genie's Anvil and the other one is in the Ruined Kingdom. No names were written on this map and no specific geographical landmarks noticeable.

As part of the agreement between Saladin and Efreet, Efreet will give Saladin all the information he as on Ur, it's location and possible traps, but to get that information, Saladin needs to restore Efreet to power...

Side Quest: The Rise of the Cult of Seth

Farooq and Ramanhi were attacked by minions of Seth in Tajar which were in this city for killing Didoufri, or so it was thought. The party had a few skirmishes with the minions, further reinforcing the idea they were after the pharaoh ambassador. They began to see the big picture when they arrived in Qadid where a temple sprouted in the middle of the Mosque District. The Sultan of Qadid asked for the heroes and the ambassador's help in dealing with this crisis. Since no opening could be found, they got the help of a rawun named Tala, whose brother had been kidnapped by the cultists. After a valiant fight with the minions of Seth, our heroes killed Ahmosis, the high priest of Seth for this temple, and destroyed the temple. They have not made another attempt against our heroes since then but...

Side Quest: The Wrath of Jisan

After Farooq humiliated the clergy of Jisan in the city of Tajar and left town, the clergy decided to have Farooq executed for his insolence. So far they have made only one attempt on the party's lives which failed miserably (see chronology). But only Faith knows what is in store for our heroes in this side quest...
